The Parenting Key
Thomas Palermo of Positive Parenting will deliver this free new and dynamic program to the parents of Kinnelon’s middle, high school and college bound students in an effort to provide the necessary tools to empower them to effectively guide, interact, and communicate with their child on important issues they will face as young adults.
Topics will include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships
- Parent-child relationships regarding trust and privacy
- Recognition of opportunities to reinforce positive decision making
- Conflict management and communication
- Prevention and recognition of substance use and abuse
- Importance of clear rules, expectations and techniques for implementation
- Civil and criminal liabilities of underage use on private property
- Prom and prom weekend
- Resources and support
- Question and answer segment
